Antiseptic (Surgical Spirit) -A diluted solution designed to use on the skin safely. It provides a cleaner surface prior to treating.
Disinfectant– Reduces the growth of disease-causing organisms using chemical agents. Disinfectant is mainly used to maintain a hygienic condition. It is used mostly to wipe down work surfaces and equipment. Disinfectant should only be used following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Autoclave – The most effective method that kills bacteria and their spores. Due to high level of heat it is only suitable for certain objects (usually metal).
Barbicide – Storing cuticle nippers and cuticle pushers in this disinfectant when they are not being used, helps towards keeping tools sterilised ready for the next client
